Featured Haunt - Rocky Point Haunted House

Salt Lake City, Utah

Rocky Point Haunted House Final Eight Nights of Haunting March 23, 24, 30, 31, April 6, 7, 13 and 14, 2007

After twenty seven frighteningly successful years, the Rocky Point Haunted House is scheduled to close its creaky doors for good this spring.  This will be the last chance the public will be able to see this world renowned haunt.

The Rocky Point Haunted House was one of the first commercial haunted houses in the country.  It began in 1979 as a small spook alley in the once famous Rocky Point Restaurant in Ogden, Utah.  Over the past 27 years, Neil has grown the attraction into the largest, most sophisticated haunted house in the industry.   Rocky Point Haunted House is regarded as the “Disneyland of haunted attractions” and has been referred to as “the best haunted house ever, anywhere”. It receives repeated recognition in local, national and international magazines and newspapers.

The Rocky Point Haunted House actor training programs have trained over 2,000 youth and have been referred to as some of the “most valuable youth programs in the State of Utah”. In addition to numerous national awards as the #1 haunted attraction, the event has won the Best Special Event, the Best Recreational Attraction and the Best Small Business in Utah award from the Best of State Competition for three consecutive years. And on top of all this, Rocky Point Haunted House has raised over a half a million dollars for local charities; the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake being its current partner.

The haunted house opens March 23rd, 24th, 30th 31st, April 6th , 7th, 13th and 14th  from 8pm to midnight. There will be day lights on tours from 1pm to 3pm on March 24th and April 7th.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Day tour prices are $20 per person.

Featured Haunt - Raycliff Manor Haunted Attraction's "Scream Break"

Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Two Weekends during Spring Break – March 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th

The creatures at Raycliff Manor have been getting restless since the 2006 Halloween season ended and they can hardly contain their screams! Before the monsters get out of hand and bust through the dungeon doors, we thought we better bring some fresh meat inside to let them work out their “anger management” issues. The Raycliff Manor Haunted Attraction will once again cautiously creak open its’ dungeon doors to allow the bravest of Spring Breakers to take their chances in the halls and rooms of the manor!  Once the manor doors slam shut again at Midnight of the 24th, the Eureka Screams! Fright Team will begin renovations inside the manor. The plans are to completely revamp a number of rooms and make significant enhancements to the attraction. The changes to Raycliff Manor will remain secret until the unveiling at a future date to be announced. We’re keeping the details of things to come well guarded and the Fright Team members have been sworn to secrecy! Of course, the dead, or should I say undead, are the best secret keepers. We look forward to seeing you in the manor. It beckons you into the darkness… do you dare?

Featured Haunt - Sands of Screams, IRAQ

We are going to be doing this haunt in an old barracks tent out here on our military base in Iraq.  The tent was home to us a few deployments back.  As a helicopter squadron in Iraq, we worked 12 hour days 7 days a week with no breaks.  My team is assembling this haunt with supplies found lying around and from creative ideas.  The haunt is going to run the 29th thru the 31st of October if no big missions come up to stop us. We are still in a combat environment.

The story of the Sands of Screams originates in Iraq at a barracks tent.  Three years ago, while troops were sleeping, a nuclear chemical biological scud missile impacted the base.  The impact of this missile spread a low lying cloud of unknown chemical agents for miles.  The base was evacuated in time except for the tent on the outer perimeter of the base.  The troops inside the tent died of the gas in horrible ways as they lay in their cots.  After the radiation dropped to a safe level, the government sent an investigation team into the base to study the aftermath.  The team extracted readings of mutations and strange almost paranormal activity throughout the base.  When the team of investigators reached the tent on the outer perimeter of the base, they went inside never to be heard from again.  Since the war, the radiation has dropped to harmless levels and the base was reused by the military.  The old tent still stands on the outer perimeter and we have been given a mission to find the investigation team who mysteriously disappeared inside the tent.  Have the forgotten troops revived to take revenge on all who enter their tent or is the tent a secret portal to another dimension.  There is no turning back now as you enter.  It is your duty to accomplish the mission at hand.

UPDATE: I would just like to thank you and the band for all of the support we have had in setting up our haunted house.  We did it tonight and had a huge turn out of around 100 visitors despite Chuck Norris visiting base during the same hours.  We had about 10 actors and three Halloween masks so people came up with some really good ideas.  I dumped chem. lights all over myself which is pretty cool for a while but wore off quick and is a real mess afterwards.  Some of the other actors put burlap bags over their heads to look like the stuffed dummies we made.  They lied in boxes and hid behind sheets of Styrofoam as the audience walked through the maze.  The people loved it too, which was good.  We played your whole CD of "Out of the Darkness" then went on to Gates of Delirium and had to play Haunted Nursery from "Out of the Darkness."  The Haunted Nursery song is by far one of the scariest ones I have heard.  Hope you enjoy the pictures here and I hope you have a great Halloween.
